Memory Lane

My Chei told me about how much he has seen Gallup change through the years; dirt roads now pathed, bridges now made, and caves covered up. I always wondered what it would be like to walk through old Gallup and through the making of the "Memory Lane" series I realized I have. Many of Gallup's older buildings still exist with their small details such as patterns in the brick (Corner of Coal and 1st), woodwork (El Morro), or style of window (Get Your Kicks). For this series, I re-created photos of Gallup that I found on Google. Realizing I was relatively in the same spot as the original photographers, I thought about the stories the streets could tell.
